Time, Cost, Quantity, Quality

You may think time, cost, quantity and quality relates to project management and you are correct, but it also relates to getting your point across to people when it comes to asking them to do some work for you. You may require a presentation or a flowchart etc. When asking someone to help, the four parameters below will make sure everyone understands your exact requirements.

The Four Parameters

Time – You want your work completing by a specific time – for example, you have a deadline in two weeks – specify this time to your colleague/associate so they can either set aside less important work or rejig their calendar to ensure ALL their projects are completed on time.

Cost – depending on the type of work required and the time it takes to complete this work, will represent the cost. A presentation may only take a day to complete, yet a bid proposal or tender could take weeks. Do you need to work longer hours? Again, this may add to the cost.

Quantity – in this technological world, paper copies have become a thing of the past.  However, some clients may still require paper copies, so specify how many copies are required. Do they want colour or black and white, double or single sided? Remember, this will also add to the cost.

Quality – Is this a draft document? Does it require reviewing afterwards? Is the quality of the document important (of course quality is important in all aspects) but this could be a draft presentation which requires the client to check, make changes and then send back to be altered and checked to ensure the highest quality document is completed.
